Acton-Boxborough Rotary Club

In 2021, the Acton-Boxborough Rotary held a Bid for Brighter Futures virtual silent auction with a gala presentation. The proceeds benefited DVSN and the Acton Food Pantry. The Rotary has repeatedly supported DVSN through various fundraising efforts, including 2020’s Comedy Night and 2019’s Presidents Golf Tournament.

The Rotary Club of Acton-Boxborough is a diverse group of citizens who embrace the Rotary motto “Service Above Self”. They act as a resource for the community, the local service organizations, and international humanitarian projects. The Club is committed to making a difference in the lives of people locally and globally. It provides vast opportunities for personal and professional growth through leadership training, fellowship, and living the Four Way Test of ethical principles.

Something Special Gift Shop

145 Lincoln Road, Lincoln, MA

Something Special generously donated educational toys and gifts to a DVSN client and her two young children living with abuse, bringing joy during the holiday season.

Visit Something Special at the Lincoln Mall near Donelan’s, the Post Office, and the Twisted Tree lunch cafe to thank them for their gift of hope and joy for a family in need.  Peruse their delightful and plentiful potpourri of toys, games, and puzzles for all ages, unusual kitchen gadgets, clothes, baby clothes, books, and gifts.  A little something for everyone.  Visit this hidden jewel and purchase, wrap, and send a few steps away.

iRobot

iRobot has donated Roomba vacuums as prizes in various DVSN fundraising efforts. Additionally, for several years, iRobot employees have donated entire wish lists for 4 to 5 families for DVSN’s annual Angel of Hope initiative. In recent holidays, more than 50 iRobot employees donated thousands of dollars to help provide emotionally and financially devastated families with a robust and festive holiday season and gift cards for holiday meals.

iRobot, the leading global consumer robot company, designs and builds robots that empower people to do more both inside and outside of the home, including the award-winning Roomba Vacuuming Robot and the Braava family of mopping robots. iRobot is a company full of creative and driven individuals working together to make the impossible possible. The company’s corporate headquarters are located in Bedford, MA with offices also in Pasadena, CA, London, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Tokyo. 

Danny’s Place

West Side Creamery & Danny’s Place Youth Services collaborate  with their annual Ice Cream Flavor Contest. All ages are encouraged to submit a flavor related to a theme. The winning flavor is produced and available to purchase at West Side Creamery for a limited time in the summer, with a portion of the proceeds going to DVSN.

Danny’s Place in Acton is a space for teens to connect, get inspired, and grow. They are dedicated to helping young people discover their happiest, healthiest selves by creating fun, interactive workshops and resources that inspire more balanced lives.

West Side Creamery

West Side Creamery offers small batch homemade traditional and seasonal ice cream flavors, with great service in a friendly and welcoming community-oriented setting in the village of West Acton. They are committed to strengthening and supporting our community by making the world a better place, one scoop at a time.

Artisans Way

18 Walden St., Concord

During the coronavirus pandemic, Artisans Way has been selling face masks and donating the proceeds to DVSN. Owner Liz Stevenson points out the double goodness of these face coverings: they were made by the Western MAsk Projectwhich outfitted many first responders and others in need of masks, and put to work many seamstresses and sewers effected by COVID-19.

Artisans Way is a fine art and contemporary craft gallery located in historic Concord center since 2011.  They offer a wide variety of artisan-made ceramics, glass, jewelry, metal, wood, apparel, fine art, home furnishings and special holiday items from across the US.

West Concord Wine & Spirits

1216 Main St., Concord

West Concord Wine & Spirits have generously donated wine tastings and baskets as auction items for several of DVSN’s annual Celebration of Hope Benefit fundraisers. Additionally, they have provided beverages for CoHBs and other DVSN events at reasonable cost.

West Concord Wine & Spirits is a family run, owner/operator business started by Joe and Mary Ann Saia, and now accompanied by their son, Chris. Selling a wide selection of wine, beer, and liquor, they have won the Readers Choice award #1 Gold for the last 15 years running. Their staff aims to tailor their service and product recommendations specifically to each customer. They can be your private sommelier whether you buy online, stop by the shop, or come to one of their tastings.

Pierce House

Lincoln, MA

Pierce House has provided DVSN a good rate as a beautiful venue for several recent events. They have also expressed interest in finding other ways to highlight and support DVSN.

Built in 1900, and located within the Historic District in Lincoln, Pierce House has the distinction of being listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Respecting the wishes of John H. Pierce, who bequeathed the mansion and property to the Town of Lincoln, the venue welcomes the local community and beyond as a place for year-round recreation, weddings, corporate and social events, art shows, car shows, summer concerts, and movie filming, among others.

MetroWest Legal Services

Framingham, MA

MetroWest provides free civil legal aid to low-income people and victims of crime. They participate in DVSN’s “Lawyer for a Day” program, providing our clients with a free attorney consultation. They also train our volunteer Advocates on court procedures and restraining orders, and are always willing to answer legal questions regarding domestic violence. 

The mission of MetroWest Legal Services is to provide legal advocacy to protect and advance the rights of the poor, elderly, disabled and other disenfranchised people in their service area and to assist them in obtaining legal, social and economic justice. Their priority practice areas include: Family Law, Housing, Homeless Advocacy, Government Benefits (including Social Security), Education, Elder Law & Immigration. During the pandemic, they have been particularly helpful to those facing eviction.

Emerson Hospital

Concord, MA

Emerson Hospital is one of DVSN’s referring partners, helping connect us with those who may need support. They have sponsored DVSN events in the past and welcome us on site to provide domestic violence training to their staff. Recently, Emerson’s “Health Works Here” podcast invited DVSN’s Executive Director, Jacquelin Apsler, to be interviewed for an episode about domestic violence.

Emerson is a full-service, non-profit community hospital known for its outstanding nursing care and specialty patient centers. They provide advanced medical services to more than 300,000 people in 25 towns. The 179-bed hospital employs more than 300 primary care doctors and specialists who care for everything from arrhythmias to wounds.

Sudbury Wayland Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable

The SWLDVR has been a supporter of DVSN for many years. Most recently, they donated to our annual Angel of Hope project. Through the generosity of the Roundtable and others we are able to provide emotionally and financially devastated families with their holiday wish lists and hearty holiday meals.

The Roundtable is a community based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting safe and healthy relationships, raising public awareness about abusive and controlling behaviors whether exhibited through bullying, teen dating violence, domestic violence, or elder abuse, and ending relationship violence in all its forms. They pursue these goals by educating our communities, supporting agencies that provide services to victims of abuse, networking with other concerned community groups, and mobilizing community leaders.
